In 2025 we marked twenty years of Fellows working individually and
collectively to confront the status quo in South Carolina. Then we asked a harder question:
what should the next twenty look like? The answer took a year of listening. More than 100
Fellows, the Board, Class Connectors, and the Annual Meeting all shaped what you are about
to read.
If we want to sustain progress, we must embrace a curious mindset and refuse to retreat
into familiar circles.

all South Carolinians and their communities, today and for future generations.
Mission

To cultivate and activate a network of values-based leaders who are committed to
working across differences to realize South Carolina's greatest opportunities and meet
its greatest challenges.
01
Enduring Hope
From our state motto Dum spiro spero: "While I breathe, I hope."
02
Courageous Leadership
Taking personal and professional risks to advance the common good.
03
Discourse Across Differences
Pursuing open, honest, and respectful dialogue across differences to expand
perspectives, cultivate relationships, and generate more creative, lasting solutions.
04
Timeless Wisdom
Drawing from historic works of literature, letters, arts, and culture to expand
and deepen our understanding of the shared human experience and our modern moment.
The work of the next three years, focused. Each priority carries
the next twenty years on its back.
