Why you are receiving this

This plan belongs to you

In 2025 we marked twenty years of Fellows working individually and collectively to confront the status quo in South Carolina. Then we asked a harder question: what should the next twenty look like? The answer took a year of listening. More than 100 Fellows, the Board, Class Connectors, and the Annual Meeting all shaped what you are about to read.

If we want to sustain progress, we must embrace a curious mindset and refuse to retreat into familiar circles.

Looking ahead

Liberty Fellowship in 2045

In this plan, we look ahead twenty years and envision a Fellowship that is:

A dynamic, connected network of over 600 Fellows actively working together across sectors and geographies

A local and national thought-leader in advancing civil discourse and facilitating positive change

An active convener of critical public conversations

A trusted partner to leading institutions invested in advancing South Carolina

A catalyst to advance South Carolina on a national and global stage

2026 to 2029

Three strategic priorities

The work of the next three years, focused. Each priority carries the next twenty years on its back.

1

Collective Confidence and Commitment

Reestablish Liberty Fellowship's purpose and vision with clarity, consistency, and transparency. Elevate the quality of every program. Invite all Fellows to reconnect and recommit to their work for South Carolina through the Fellowship.

Where you come in: this page is that invitation.

2

Mission-Driven Public Engagement

Reintroduce public forums. Curate, commission, and publish thought-leadership content. Cultivate active partnerships in South Carolina and beyond.

Where you come in: the Annual Public Forum returns, and Fellows carry it.

3

Inspiring Innovation

Explore, pilot, and launch new programs and platforms to deepen, expand, and help fund the work of Liberty Fellowship through increased engagement with Fellows, partners, and cross-sector leaders.

Where you come in: new offerings will be built with Fellows, not just for them.
